This comprehensive planning effort involved a multi-disciplinary team led by Howard Deardorff with a heavy emphasis on public involvement. The study area included an existing industrial river corridor approximately 1.5 miles long that serves as the north entrance to Ann Arbor's Central Business District. The plan was adopted by the Ann Arbor City Council and features approximately 75 acres of urban riverfront park including a river sports center.
